Gail Kerr loved Nashville, Tennessee and used her column to make it better. She began her career in journalism while still in high school working part-time at The Tennessean, Nashville's daily newspaper. In the thirty-plus years that followed, she covered Metro Government, the Tennessee General Assembly, state and local politics and a variety of other entities and personalities. Gail covered three Presidential campaigns, national political conventions and two Presidential inaugurations.
In addition, she served as city editor before beginning her column in 2000. Her column ran several times a week until her death in 2014.
Gail was a Rhodes College graduate, an officer in the Society of Professional Journalists, and an elder in Downtown Presbyterian Church.
